New years eve in France is traditionally a family affair, with people gathering at each others homes or more typically heading out to a local restaurant for the food and wine that characeterises most special occasions in this part of the world.
That's not to say there aren't some large scale parties however, and the new year gathering in Paris in particular is one of the biggest in the world, with huge crowds gathering along the iconic Champs Elysees and surrounding areas to watch the Eiffel Tower light show that heralds the arrival of the new year.

The following locations across France are currently featured on the site. We've included Monaco here too, although not technically French we figured it is located close enough by to qualify.
