There aren't too many large scale public new year parties across Africa, with most areas that do mark the occasion choosing smaller scale, more intimate events. There have been large fireworks displays in countries such as Egypt with large cities like Cairo and Alexandria previously but changing circumstances have made this more rare these days.

We have still found some cities with celebrations worth looking out for, in South Africa in particular new year fireworks retain their essential popularity.
