There is much more to new years eve in Illinois than the fireworks and parties in Chicago, with many towns and cities across the state hosting their own events and celebrations.
The main party in Illinois is of course in the state's most famous population centre of Chicago, where they have been making concerted efforts in recent years to make their new years eve celebrations match up to this in comparable sized cities across the United States, with the ultimate aim being to provide a genuine popular alternative to the New York ball drop as a new year destination.
There are many other parties across the state though, and we will be adding more as time passes, with places such as Des Plaines, Naperville and Peoria of particular interest.
