Val d'Isere is a popular ski resort in the south of France in Savoie

Although aimed at the more advanced skiers, there is also a selection of slightly more manageable pistes for us beginners, so everyone can get involved in the winter get away. Who am I kidding, I'd be bundled up in one of the lovely restaurants, nice and warm with a mug of Vin Chaud watching people fall over!
Airstar Night Light is on throughout the season (December to March) every Thursday, from 6pm - 7.30pm the village is pedestrianised and you can marvel at the illuminations!
On New Years Eve, head to the main street for some impromptu fireworks,
champagne bottle popping and of course a snowball fight! All the bars
and clubs will have some party on but will probably be ticket only so
I wouldn't leave it to chance on the night, make sure you've got your
bubbly in hand when the bells come in.
The restaurants will be offering special New Year's Eve menus and again, book in advance so you've got your table sorted and can relax.
