I think it's a given that anywhere in Italy is fabulous to visit. Should you be planning on visiting Rimini for New Years Eve, then make sure that you have save some time for exploring this gorgeous Italian city.

During December Rimini turns it's focus to the festive period and you will find beautiful Christmas trees and lights illuminating the streets and then of course there are the Christmas markets to visit on Piazza Cavour every Sunday and the daily Christmas market at Piazza Tre Martiri.

They really go all out in December and pride themselves in having the "Longest New Years Celebrations", with over 150 events planned all through December including live music events, exhibitions, nativity scenes, the Christmas village along the waterfront and Christmas Tree Fair on Ponte di Tiberio. So many things to see and do!

Just take to the streets and explore the historical architecture, visit museums, stroll along the beach, as it's December the crowds of tourists will have abated and you can enjoy some tranquillity.

New Year Fireworks

The concert in Piazzale Fellini is back for the new year with Biagio Antonacci performing live then watch as the skies are illuminated at midnight with the fireworks. Throughout the city there will be celebrations, concerts and so much more, so get out there and explore.

You can also head to Piazza Cacour, Piazza Malatesta, Teatro degli Atti, Teatro Galli and the courtyard of the lobrary.

Fire at the Castle - Castel Sismondo has fireworks and a cavalcade of colour bursting actoss the sky.

Museums and cultural venues will have free access from 9pm.

If you want something a little more low key, then head towards the waterfront to gaze on the fireworks whilst you sip on a glass of the sparkly stuff!

Rimini is after all a nightlife hotspot, so those who love to party into the new year will be well taken care of. There are plenty of clubs and bars offering New Years Eve celebrations, so check with the venues closer to the time to book your tickets.
