Quebec City, is simply a stunning location for New Years Eve. It has beautiful European style architecture, especially in places like Vieux-Quebec and the Place Royale, Chateau Frontenac Hotel is particularly impressive and dominates the city skyline. You can take to the cobbled streets and meander through the city and immerse yourself in this Christmas wonderland while perusing the shops and boutiques.

Get your skis on, (or your snow shoes) as you can't be up in Quebec city and not take advantage of the snow. Head to Mont-Sainte-Anne, especially if you love night skiing as they have 19 floodlit trails open after dark. There is also Le Massif de Charlevoix if you love sledding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Both of these resorts have buses running from Quebec City, so straight forward to get to.

Go explore Montmorency Falls Park with its stunning waterfalls, open all year round, this is a great day out, jump on the cable car to the top and take a walk out on the suspension bridge for some epic photo opportunities and feel the force of nature below you!

New Years Eve Fireworks & Concert

If you're thinking New Years Eve in Quebec City, then think Grande Allée! They don't even wait for 31st December, all the action starts a few days before with a big ferris wheel, light shows, outdoor bars and cafes with heated terraces (got to keep the chill away!).

Then on New Years Eve itself there is a great live concert and entertainment in front of the Parliament building. The festivities ramp up for midnight and the countdown followed by fireworks, an amazing night for everyone.

There really is something for everyone, from street party to black tie events in the city's grand hotels.
