Halifax New Years Eve 2024

Things to do on new years eve in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Grand parade party, fireworks, hotels & restaurants

Halifax Nova Scotia

Halifax, Nova Scotia, not to be confused with the West Yorkshire version in the UK, in December is a wonderful place to visit, where Christmas trees and fairy lights illuminate the streets and you can really get into the festive spirit.

The city has a great selection of parks, art galleries and museums for those looking to learn about the history of Halifax. Or perhaps take a stroll along the Halifax Harbourwalk, over 3km of boardwalk where you can find many of the city's tourist spots including the Immigration Museum at Pier 21, museum of the Atlantic and there are a plethora of shops to peruse on route.

Get yourself warmed up with a cup of hot cider from the Halifax Seaport Farmers Market as you peruse the stalls and stock up on fresh goods and maybe pick up some of the local craft work.

Looking to recapture your youth, then grab you sled and head to Citadel Hill for hours of fun, the kids might enjoy it to! There is also snow shoeing, snow boarding and cross country skiing for those looking for a more active holiday.

Lastly, don't miss out on a trip to Peggy's Cove, especially of you're a keen photographer looking for iconic shots. With fewer tourists milling about, you'll be able to capture the lighthouse surrounded by snow, just beautiful.
