New Years Eve in Bologna will be a night to remember, so if you do fancy an Italian break away, this beautiful city is well worth the visit. Chase away the chill of winter with a cup of hot chocolate while you people watch in one of the many great cafes.
The main event for New Years Eve in Bologna is on Piazza Maggiore
and it will be crazy busy as people jostle for a position to see
the live entertainment and also the traditional burning of the Vecchione
for the Rogo del Vecchione. There is usually a live DJ set played
from Palazzo del Podestà balcony, so a great party atmosphere along
with fireworks in the Piazza and throughout the city.
